Release of the Nunes Document
We don’t know really what time this was released but I got it around 1PM. So here’s the chart based in New Orleans, Louisiana, where are are this week.
The Bureau of Investigation (BOI) was created on July 26, 1908, after the Congress had adjourned for the summer. Its first “Chief” (the title is now known as “Director”) was Stanley Finch. Its first official task was visiting and making surveys of the houses of prostitution in preparation for enforcing the “White Slave Traffic Act,” or Mann Act, passed on June 25, 1910.
In 1932, the bureau was renamed the United States Bureau of Investigation and linked to the Bureau of Prohibition for enforcement of that law. In the pages of FBI history, November 24, 1932, is the official birthday of the famed FBI Laboratory but it was still technically the Division of Investigation (DOI).
It was not until 1935 when it officially changed from the Division of Investigation became part of the Department of Justice that it got its current name, FBI. No date known.
