Light Pollution in the American Skies

From Astronomy Magazine June 2016.

As plainly seen on this illustration, the U.S. East coast has the most light pollution in the country from Boston to Miami and west to Chicago to Dallas.  That is a wide swath of earth.  West of the Mississippi, there are clear skies until one hits the coast.    The article this is from is on the Grand Canyon and its bright night skies.

  1. Light pollution is too much in US. It effects strangers to see stars in heaven. Many big planets are not seen in day light.
